National Car Rental
We prefer National as they have many locations throughout Costa Rica, have great customer service and have provided us with a special corporate rate which we would like to share with you.
To access corporate discounts for car rental in CR
Go to www.natcar.com/main.cfm
Click on corporate
Rate code: THXA-AXCB
Company name: Our Costa Rica Ventures
If you have rental car insurance on your credit card, you can unclick the insurance option but will still need to pay for the minimum liability insurance of $7 per day.
We recommend renting a 4x4 if you plan to discover small populated areas and beyond. However, if you are planning to stick to the highways and populated areas, a Toyota Yaris will do just fine. Make sure you bring your credit cards with rental car collision insurance. You are able to rent a GPS with your car or bring your own. You will be glad you did, especially for driving in larger cities.
San Jose Airport Hotels

We love the Adventure Inn! It is very close to both San Jose airports. The hotel has WIFI, several computers available to customers, pool, hot tub, restaurant and English speaking staff. Pizza and sushi restaurants and supermarket are within 10 min walk and an indoor shopping mall is within 20 min walk. An elaborate souvenir store is also 10 min walk.
